About Muirden Energy
Muirden Energy has former Grampian Country Foods Chairman Fred Duncan as the major partner. Based at the centre of his farming enterprise at Muirden Farm, Turriff, the business was set up in 2009 to expand on the already impressive renewable portfolio. The business which operates in partnership with farmers and landowners to develop, build and operate wind turbine projects has 6.9MW operational at Strath of Brydock, 6.9MW consented at Newton of Fortrie and a further 2.4MW consented at Mains of Hatton with construction starting later this year.
With 25 years' experience of working partnerships with farmers from Grampian Country Foods, Muirden Energy looks to build on these relationships and create 'win win' opportunities where farmers and landowners can benefit from the gains on offer from wind energy, without being exposed to all of the risks.
