Mains of Hatton Operational

Construction of the first Enercon E48 wind turbine at Mains of Hatton is completed and the turbine is now exporting power to the National Grid. This site represents a significant investment by Muirden Energy in SSE’s infrastructure with 8km of underground cabling put in to take the power back to Turriff. Local contractors Nicol of Skene were used for the cabling work and did a great job with all works, including directional drilling uner the River Deveron, completed in less than two months. This work coincided with harvest in order to minimise disruption to the farms the cable route went through. The following two turbines will be erected within the next two years.
