Newton of Fortrie
This site has three Enercon E-70 turbines which were commissioned in April 2013.The turbines generate £10,000 of Community Benefit annually. It is agreed £6,000 of the Community Benefit will be given to the Auchterless, Inverkeithny and Fisherford Community Council (AIFCC) to use as they see fit for the benefit of the communities they represent. The remaining £4000 will be distributed to ‘good causes’.
We were very pleased to donate 2014’s ‘good causes’ fund to Easterfield Primary School, a rural school in close proximity to the wind farm. The School was delighted and are in the process of installing a new children’s outdoor play area.
This year’s ‘good causes’ fund has recently helped provide the funding for the foundations of a greenhouse at Auchterless Primary School. There remains over £3000 in the fund and applications are encouraged.
Muirden Energy is currently working in partnership with Resonance Asset Management following the sale of Newton of Fortrie in 2014. This is to ensure the continued support of the community with Community Benefit during the handover of the asset.
Applications to the fund is currently open and very much welcomed.Details of how to apply for funding from 2016 are noted below.
