Hill of Glaschyle
Hill of Glaschyle is Muirden Energy’s largest project to date, and is a joint venture between Muirden Energy and the Logie Estate. The wind farm, located near Forres, Moray, comprises twelve Enercon E-70 turbines - giving the wind farm a total capacity of 27.6MW which will produce enough clean electricity to supply 10,000 average households. Work on Hill of Glaschyle started in late 2015 and the wind farm became fully operational in March 2017.
The wind farm has been constructed around the southerly edge of The Hill of Glaschyle, with striking views over the Moray Firth to the north and the Cairngorm National Park to the south. A network of wind farm tracks have been built which are open for the public to visit and use.
The civil Balance of Plant was undertaken by RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd while the electricals contract was completed by Powersystems UK Ltd.
