Books for Foggie Bairns

As part of our community benefit scheme, one of our local Joint Venture Windfarms is supporting a new association- Books for Foggie Bairns, BFFB. The BFFB will be running alongside the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Library source and distribute age-appropriate books to children who enroll on the scheme up until they turn 5 and the BFFB aim to promote the scheme locally, enroll the children and raise money to cover the cost of the books.

Words from the BFFB:

'We are aware of the positive effect of books in a child's early years to both expand their vocabulary and speech and also foster strong relationships within the family but it came as a surprise that 1 in 5 children don't own a book. The I.L. is currently run by the Scottish Government for children in care and we feel that many more children would benefit from the scheme and are willing to give our time to administer it.'

The association were able to launch at the Farmers Market in Foggie on Saturday the 19th. What a great project.

Happy Reading Folks!!
